Blogger now has a new Ajax google search bar which you can add if you have upgraded your blogger template to blogger 3.0 with elements.
if you already have a 3.0 template and you don't see the new
or the new poll feature it's because you haven't logged into "draft.blogger.com" which will allow you to use all the latest elements in beta.
You know you're on the draft blogger site because the banner at the top will look like this:

Thanks for the heads up. I just struggled with putting a Google search bar on my site for nothing.
